Hello, We own a 1999 Fleetwood Discovery RV with a 350 cummins engine with 54,000 miles. Ever since 2006 we have been having a problem with the serpentine belt. It has broken 2 times in the middle of the highway. We only use the RV twice a year and drive to Southern Florida from New Jersey. The belt broke in 2006 and in 2008. Is there a mechanical problem in the engine that causes the belt to break? Thanks very much.

Hi there,

when these belts fail prematurely it is often a case of misalignment, due to a faulty pulley or bearing, there are laser aligners now in many work shops to accurately check the alignment of all the pulleys I would look into this type of test.
