i have a 1998 malibu before I bought I the persom who sold it to me went to get it checked out and the problem was a misfire and coolent leak and it needed plugs and wires what do you think the misfire could be

Hi ebonybutts,

Misfiring could be caused by spark plugs and/or related components, fuel and engine compression.

Since you have overheating issues, it could be a bad head gasket cause differences in compression pressure.
