I went today to see if a 1993-626 with 148k on it was worth purchasing. The owner said the alternator belt broke and he has not driven it since. I purchased the belts to put them on and when I was removing the outer belt which runs the water pump and AC I noticed only 2 of 4 of the ribs of the belt were on the main pulley, (harmonic pulley?) And those ribs were obviously in poor condition. I am to the point where I realize if I put the alternator belt on also it will be out of alignment (it is the inner pulley). So its as if the Main pulley is too close to the engine. The car owner provided me with recent repairs which inclue timing belt replacement at 140k and Distributor replacement was replaced at 143k. The repairs were done by a proffesional shop. Based on this information I hope someone can point me in the right direction

Looks like i'm going to answer my own question. Luckily it wasnt too difficult to examine the harmonic balancer pulley closer. Only to find its bad, But im hoping thats the reason the pulleys are not lining up with the belts.
