1992 MX-3 - flickering lights

The dash lights and headlights llightly flicker most of the time when they are on. When the headlights are off and I press the brake, the dash lights flicker on. What could cause this? Bad battery or alternator?

One of the first things I would check is: take both of your tail-lights out and check all of the light sockets. These cars were known for roten tailight sockets that would cause alot of electrical problems. Also the front marker lights may be rotten'
