: I would like to know what could be some problems with my car. I have a 90 grand prix the car starts right up, and will stay started by its self when it's cold. Though when it warms up it continues to shut off unless you hold the brakes and give it some gas untill I pull off to drive. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME? :

There is a few things that may cause this proplem 1. The IAC motor which is the idle air control may need to be cleaned and the throtle plate may need to be cleaned. Also don't use fuel injector cleaner in you tank it will only cause you greif later on. Have some on check you spark plus too much gap will also cause this. Air filter fuel filter all these are maint items that should be addressed. Try all this first if problem still there. Resubmit also do you have a service engine light on or check engine light on? If so you need to have a tech read the codes with a mechine and (don't let no one tell you to diconnect the battery to turn out the light ) that also kills all the info that could have told the tech what may be wrong with you car that is agervating. Hope this helps you (NOS)
