Hello Again! This is a continuation of my dash light problem. I have isolated the problem to my "dash light brightness control unit". Does ANYONE know where this is located in the car? The wires from the dimmer switch go directly to it, and I cannot find the physical unit. Thanks in advance!

This is a follow up on my 1990 Honda civic lx inoperative dashboard light problem. I ended up pulling the gauge cluster, and discovering that the red, and red-blk wires were all taped together in a huge mess. My assuption is that the dashboard brightness control unit was removed and someone tried to rewire the lights. My fix was to trace the red wire ( coming from all of the lights) to it's point of origin at a connector at the fuse block, and disconnect it from the connector and ground it. I chose to do this after I discovered 12v on both the red and red blk at the lamps. Since the red-blk comes directly from the fuse, grounding the red completed the circuit and the lights now come on with the switch. The dimmer switch is still inop, but I will live with it. THANK YOU to everyone who responed to this concern!
