1989 motorhome, dolphin, chevy 458,automatic transmission--i have an intermittant problem.Usually when the engine is warm.usually when I press the gas pedal to the floor for passing gear..sometimes it feels like gas flow has stopped.the engine feels as though it is going to die..it will surge a little, then no response from the gas pedal.I have changed:fuel filter, carb filter, new fuel pump, new spark plugs and wires, new distributer, new air filter. It did pass smog test today.just feels like an on/off switch to the fuel delivery system..any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Hi dunespit,

You mentioned carb so the problem could be due to a bad carb accelerating pump or power jet.

Have you tried servicing the carb ?
