ok i have a question about a 1984 500SEL 5.0L V8 when i first bought the car it ran. then i had to let is sit a couple of weeks before i could register it and get insurance on it. i went out the day i got it registered and had it running. then i shut it off and now i am not able to get the key to turn. and the steering wheel is locked. so if someone could please write me @ blueeyes11298@yahoo.com and tell me how i can go about fixing this problem i would greatly appreciate it. thanks..

i have a 92 190e and the same thing happened to me. try rocking the car back and forth to see if the parking pin in the transmission is jammed. also try wiggling the steering wheel back and forth while trying to turn the key. if that doesnt work then you probably have the same problem i had. a bad key cylinder which will probably require a trip to a service shop.
