Is there a way you can have the the system scanned for codes? If you can get those codes it could give us an idea as to where to start looking. If you would have said the siren message was on and the sunroof stopped working I would definitely say the siren module is bad.

Most Volvo dealers will give you a free scan if you ask them but I have not worked for Volvo in a couple of years so I do not know if they still do that? When you have time, try calling them to see if they can do a free code scan. The only problem is if there is an issue with the alarm system any type of repair may need some software or configuration of a module which the dealership or a shop that specializes in Volvo can only do? Let us know if you can get those codes.
