I do not know cars. Can someone identify this hose in the back passenger side of my car that is leaking?

How far could I drive with such a leak? Does it need replaced right away?

Can I DIY? Or how much should it cost?

Hello, I am Danny.
Can you take a picture of the hose in question with your phone and upload so we can see which hose you are referring to?

Thanks for responding. The upload function did not work until I after I posted. I added it as the first comment. Do you see it? I highlighted the leak in red.

Hello again.
After doing a little research the component you are speaking of is called the Evaporative Canister (attached a picture and circled in red). It is a part of the emissions system. That canister is used in conjunction with a few other components to reburn gasoline fumes and help prevent the fumes from being released into the atmosphere. I have also attached a link to give you an idea. You can go to any local auto parts store and get that replacement hose that is leaking. Auto parts stores will save you quite a bit of money compared to the Dodge dealership. If I had to guess that hose will be less than $50.00. Hope this helps and feel free to ask any further questions. Thanks for using 2CarPros.

Thanks for answering. Knowing what it is will help.

Is the hose for the Evaporative Canister hard to replace?
Can I figure out how to do it on my own?
Approximate cost? For me? For mechanic to do it?

Thanks again!

Hello again.
I am sure you can do it yourself. You do no't need to replace the Canister just the hose that is leaking that attaches to it. It should only take thirty minutes or so and the cost will maybe be $50.00 or less for the part. Any local auto parts store should have it. If you take it to a repair shop I am guessing maybe $150.00 for parts and labor. Hope this helps and thanks again for using 2CarPros.
