Mechanic trying to replace the system unit as it stopped working so he can pass inspection on it due to the fact that he can't check defrost. No power to it at all. The wiring shows a pink wire yet the wire on it is blue and he doesn't know why? All the internet shows is people figured it out but doesn't show what they did to run the wires from the new factory unit to the car using the blue wire.

Good morning,

What exactly is he trying to rewire? Is it the actuators or for the compressor?

I'm not sure exactly. All I know is there is a pink wire that turns blue that 's not suppose to and on that car that is not a thing he has seen. Hes not sure how to wire it. Its been 3 weeks now and its been a mess just getting that one thing done. First they order the wrong part now this. Its a manufacture error I'm thinking. Not sure though. I'm guessing they just ran out of pink and just substituted it but I do not know. They actually wanted us to do their work and take it to the dealership to have them relay the info to them like with? We are paying them and they want us to do their job? We would take it somewhere else but we already invested money into the repairs already so we are stuck here.

The way he talked he really didn't know for sure what is wrong with it. It was working fine one day except for the leak of fluid inside the car and then it just stopped cold turkey. No power whatsoever.

Let us back up. None of this helps me understand the issue.

Why did you take the car in for repair? What was your exact issue?

Do not take your car back to them. They have no idea what they are doing.

We took it for inspection and the shop is with the place we finance from so it was free for us. We had no idea it was going to be this much trouble or we would never have gone this route. They haven't given us service papers or updated the rejected sticker even though they fixed the other things they told us it needed like suspension and motor mount work. Ugh. So pissed at all this.

My husband said there is 2 pink wires one goes down and the other goes from pink to light blue. That's all I was told. Neither one of us knows anything about ac units. That is why I figured someone here might have heard of this layout before. I wish I could give you more information. The guy never told us what part or anything.

Okay, that tells me nothing of the system and your issue.

Do you have an air conditioning issue? You need to call them and find out exactly what they are doing and why. Write it all down and then let me know.

Otherwise, get it out of there and take it somewhere else for inspection.
