My A/C clutch will not engage even though it is getting 14 volts of power to the A/C compressor (check it with multi-meter). Would that mean that the clutch and/or the compressor are out? All relays, fuses, diodes are working. A/C pressure switch is working. The Freon level is correct. The coolant temperature sensor is working correctly also. The A/C was working fine and had been running about an hour, then just stopped blowing cold air. Clutch spins freely by hand. Are there any other over rides that would keep the clutch from engaging?

Good morning,

Check the wires for power while the compressor is engaged. You can do it with the key on, engine off.

Check the black wire for power. You will need to back probe it. If it has power, the wire is not grounded and that could be the issue.

If it has no voltage, then the compressor is bad and needs to be replaced.
