V6 two wheel drive automatic 75,000 miles.

Hi, the wipers do not work properly. When I am driving freeway in the rain, they hit so hard that they go beyond the front shield and get stuck on the left hand side. I have to open the window and fix it by hand each time it happens. Do you know what causes this problem and how I can fix it? When I bring the car to the dealer, I cannot demonstrate it. Thank you!

The wiper linkage could be worn. When the wipers are off is there any free play in the wiper arms?

You are right. Replacing the linkage fixed the problem perfectly. Costed $465.00. Thanks!

Six cylinder four wheel drive automatic 110, 00 miles.

It snowed today. I was trying to wipe the snow off of my car, so I turn on my windshield wipers. They worked the first time, but I think it was either iced, or weighed down due to the snow and thus, they stopped working.

I hope this is not an expensive/unfixable problem. Any suggestions?

Hi BettyC,

Sometimes the wiper motor would get iced up and when that happens it would not work.

When the weather warms up, try again. If the arms do not work, listen if the motor is working. If the motor works, then you have a dislodged wiper link. Repair would depend on what needs to be done, reinstallation or replacement of parts required.
