MY CAR OVERHEATED, I TOOK IT FOR A DIAGNOSTIC AND WAS TOLD I BLEW THE HEAD GASKETS AND NEEDED A NEW RADIATOR, I DIDN'T DO THE REPAIR. I DROVE IT HOME. I HAD A REPAIR GUY COME TO MY HOME AND TOLD ME THAT HEAD GASKETS WERE NOT BLOWN AS I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO DRIVE AS WELL AS DIDN'T NEED NEW RADIATOR AS THEY DIDN'T FLUSH THE RADIATOR TO DETERMINE THAT IT WAS CLOGGED OR BAD. I HAVE NOT DRIVEN THE CAR AND DON'T KNOW WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT. ANOTHER DIAGNOSTIC WAS DONE AND I WAS TOLD TO CHANGE OUT THE MAP SENSOR AND THAT WOULD RESET ALL THE CODES AND STOP THE HIGH IDLEING BUT THAT DIDN'T WORK, ANY IDEAS?

Hi sepnfla44,

Did you check the coolant level in the radiator?

Was the Check Engine Light showiong prior to this happening?

Get a scan done to find out if there are any error codes stored in ECM memory.

High idling can be due to leaking vacumn hoses or improperly adjusted idle adjust screw(if equipped).
