My '99 Acura has almost 160K miles and is not wanting to start. It'll turn over but then just dies. sometimes is takes as many as 10 tries to get it started. The check engine light is not on so when it was hooked up to the diagnostic machine no error codes popped up. While driving sometimes it'll just shut off, all the gauges will dropped back to 0 and I have to put it neutral real quick to get it going again. What could be casuing this problem?

Faulty ignition switch is one culprit. When the vehicle won't start you need to determine if it is getting spark to the plugs or fuel. Small window of opportunity but that is the time to diagnose it.

hi my name is pras, i had the exact same problem. first the ignition switch is on a recall, go to ur acura dealer and get that replaced for free. next if thats not the problem get the electrical switch replaced, its about $400 to get that done. thats is the problem, because my 99 acura tl was doing the same thing and thats what i had done at the acura dealership. trust me on this one because i brought it to about 5 mechanics and they all said the same thing.
