My 2005 Acura MDX engine is making a clicking noise sometimes. What can be the cause of this?

From the symptom description, we are not able to tell what could be wrong as the information is vague.

When does the noise occur?
How does the noise sound like?
Is the noise level in relations to the engine rpm?
