Brakes problem
1994 Acura Legend V6 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 120, 00 miles

When I go to start up my car, my gear wont release when I press my brakes. So I have to stick my key in to the gear release thing to release it, hold it, then start the car up and put it in gear. Do you know what could be causing this? Also my ABS light is on so Im not sure if that has anything to do with it.

When I had this problem it turned out to be a rear brake light assembly switch that needed replacement. My electrician found the short. Its easy to get to and replace by unscrewing the panel inside your trunk over the affected tail light and looking for the burnt out switch. I had to get a whole rear tail light and just use the new white circuit box to fix the problem. Hope it helps
