I have a automatic 1994 3.2L legend with 150K miles. The problem is the odometer & tripmeter does not work. About a year ago, I replaced the Vehicle Speed Sensor(VSS) because the speedodometer was not working. I believe the speedodometer is about 10 mph off, but currently it does not jump or virbrate. It moves normally. The tachometer work fine too.
The service manual indicates the odometer/tripmeter or Printed circuit board A is the problem.
The manual states the VSS is geared to the differential and only turns when the car moves. The VSS is a hydrulic and electrical system that also controls the stering assist.
If the speedodometer works, is it possible the VSS is the problem? If not, is there a more common problem to this condition?
