Engine Mechanical problem
2001 Acura Integra 4 cyl Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 30K miles

Well I have a two-fold question, first my daughter had a blow out last year at about 20MPH and ran into a parked semi. The semi won. The right front quarter panel and bumper are needng replaced and the skirting inside the tire-well also. However the car has been sitting in my garage for the last nine moths now I cannot get it to "jump" with my crappy cables. What could be the culprit, the battery (I believe it's an original)? Anything special I need to do before replacing the battery and driving it around for estimates? Unfortunately we only had liability on the car so it's on my dime!
Thanks!

Not sure what part of the country you live in. But even in the garage in the cold parts of the country it freezes. A drained or low battery can freeze. Easy way to tell is to look at the battery and note any slight or moderate bulging on the sides. The sides should not be flexed out. I think the battery would be the place to start. I assume it was very dead as the draw would have taken it down to nothing. Bad on any battery. This all assumes that it ran when you parked it and that it even attempts to turn over when jumped.

Turn on the lights if any lights turn on that means the battery is fine, make sure the lights are bright.
Try to turn it on. If it doesnt turn on check the battery cables and make sure they are not corroded.
Makes sure the terminals are clean by scrubbing it with sand paper. Hope I helped you!

Good luck
