I have a 1996 Acura Integra GSR (VTEC), manual transmission with 80k miles that I recently purchased. When I run the car at highway speed for a while and then pull off it idels fine, but loses significant performance when I try to go forward. It feels like I am in the wrong gear or like I am dragging a huge load behind me. It will accelerate, but very slowly even in first gear. After it cools off, it runs fine again.

I have checked the plugs and they are light gray, compression is 200-210 psi across the board. Fule filter is OK. I checked the timing belt and it has all of its teeth and is timed right. I adjusted the valves due to a lot of noise, but it didn't make any difference.

Engine is using about 1qt of oil per 1000miles and is only getting about 20mpg (I drive it hard).

I tried to check the fuel pressure, but it doesn't have a fitting to attach to.

It has an aftermarket intake. I couldn't find a PCV valve anywhere. There is a line hooked directly from the intake to the valve cover without a valve in it.

Help!

for fuel pressure test you have to test it at the fuel rail "where the fuel injectors are". it may be located bellow the air intake manifold and that might have to be removed to access it.
