my car dies when the rpms get below 1500.
i took it to my old automechanics class and they got it working for a few weeks by adjusting the idle and scraping the gunk offf the rotor button but the problem just came back. i started just pressing on the gas to keep the rpms up. it worked for a few days but the car started making unhealthy noises and shaking and also while i am driving the rpms will spike.
do ya'll have any idea what the problem could be?[img:f36aeb5851]http://www.2carpros.com/forum/automotive_pictures/334043_m_6224b3a9da41434abf29aae956f6d23d_1.jpg[/img:f36aeb5851]

Hi 95acuraintegra2door,

When the engine is unable to maintain the correct idling speed and stalls, there are a few possibilities.

Running short of a cylinder. One or more cylinders could be bad. Bad spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor, ignition coil, fuel injectors.

Do you have any hesitation or poor performances when driving?
Do you have any coolant losses or overheating problems?
Any other abnormalities or symptoms that you can tell us?
Is the Check Engine Light showing?

well i've replaced the ignition coil, spark plug wires,
and pvc pipe. umm yes sometimes it hesitates and has poor performance. there are no coolent losses or overheating problems. the check engine light will periodically come on and off. the car doesn't always cut off either. sometimes it runs fine. it usually dies/cuts off though and has been doing this for 2 months. it makes no sense to me at all.

When engine cuts of, was it easy to restart? Since CEL had showed, there should be a Diagnostic Trouble Code stored in the ECM. Bridge the SCS connector and turn ignition switch ON. Count the blinks of the CEL and let me know what you find. Long delay flash = 10. Quick blinks = 1.
