I have a 94 Integra with a manual tranny. I was driving the other day and the car just died on me while I was driving it. I've replaced the plugs and wires but it's doing almost the same thing. While I'm on the highway at 65mph, RPM just goes to zero and comes back up again but when I get to a stop light it just dies. It's not starving for fuel. I'm thinking about replacing the distributor (ignition coil is inside). Is that going to fix the problem?

Hi jdmhonda,

After the engine stalls, was it easy to restart?

Was there any incidence of difficult starting or engine stalls after starting and you have to wait some time before it can start?

The RPM dropping to zero could be the engine stalling and while in gear the engine is push started again. It could also be the cause.

The first time it died, it would not start so I had to replace the plugs and wires. But now it starts right away , but it dies...

Hi jdmhonda,

If the engine starts and stall immediately, it is most probably an idling problem

Did it start again after stalling?

Would it stall if you press the gas pedal to get the rpm higher?

If Yes to the above, then you need to check for fuel pressure.
