1990 Acura Integra RPM's bouncing up and down ocassionally

Ocassionally while I'm driving, my RPM's will bounce up and down like crazy and my car hesitates to gas, then all of a sudden I might get a burst of gas and then it will hesitate again. My friend has said it might be a vacuum leak or fuel injector problem. The transmission is slipping and I have no reverse gear, not sure if this is transmission related however.

Hi thomaslopez,

When the reverse fails, the 4th speed clutch is faulty. They share the same clutch. What you described indicates the trans is slipping in 4th.

You would need to rebuild or replace the trans.
