I have a few questions about my car. First and formost there is a black liquid that blows out the tail pipe, it looks like oil. I was wondering what that could be caused from? Also when the car is in drive it shakes a lot and shuts off when I stop for a short period of time, what could be the cause of the car shutting off when it's in drive but when I'm driving it stays running and when i stop i have to put the car in nuetral so it wont shut off on me? What could the cause of the engine shaking a lot and shutting off?

Hi tanenatbinder,

1. The black liquid could be water + carbon + a bit of oil.

2. The engine idling is too low or it is running on unequal cylinder power.

Get a tune up done and clean the throttle body with carb cleaner and it should be ok, unless there is something wrong with the engine.
