Four cylinder two wheel drive manual

Okay Here is the problem:
All was fine, car was bought used. started well (cranked over). Took a trip to local store. got out and car would not crank there after. able to push start and run fine. Removed starter and had it checked (all diagnostics on starter passed). Battery holds charge fine, All lights and etc. work. It just will not start.

Check for twelve volts at the small wire on the starter with key in crank position. If it has it the starter is bad, if not check for power in and out of the clutch switch, mounted on the pedal assembly under the dash. Should have power in and out with clutch pushed in. if not switch is either bad or out of adjustment.

is there a way to bypass switch, or do you have (maybe) a diagram of how it should be?Which wire is which. Having a hard time getting by AC duct.

I can access wire harness but the connection at pedal is hard to get to.

We are both on the same Diagram track . :-)

Should never bypass this, then it can start in gear. remove A/C duct, should pull out of the way. One of the wires will have power with key in crank position, the other will power up when clutch is depressed. looks like both wires are black/white.

Thank you so much. The problem has been solved without me paying a mechanic big bucks. It just turned out that a screw fell out which pressed the switch when the clutch pedal was pressed. Simple fix with your guidance.
Thanks again,

Four cylinder front wheel drive automatic 182,000 miles

For many years had intermittent starting problems, finally resolved with new main relay. Now suddenly car shuts off on road and will not start. If I wait about an hour, and it starts up fine.

When it does not start check if you have strong spark and fuel.

Distributors and ignition coils are a high failing item on your vehicle. That may be where your problem lies.
