I was recently driving home when I noticed that my rpm would rev when I pressed on the gas. It took a moment but the car would eventually speed up. A couple of miles later the car just revved when I gave it gas. I pulled over and turned the car off. I started the car up and put it into gear. It would not go anywhere. I am assuming that it is a transmission problem. Could it be something else?

Hi there.

This is sounding like a transmission problem, i would be checking the oil level first, and if that is ok, it will be a job for a transmission specialist to envisage for you, start here.
