Yesterday my ac compressor seized and caught on fire. It broke the serpentine belt. It no longer turns period. What I want to know is is it ok to get a belt that bypasses the compressor? I just need to do it until I can afford another compressor

Hi LRichardson,

Yes. You can just look one up that says with out air conditioning and then follow the same routing except the AC compressor.

Worst case scenario you can look up a dummy pulley that you can put in place of the compressor. This means you just remove the compressor and then install this pulley and you can use the same stock belt with AC.

Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks
