The A/C will work fine, then it will randomly stop working?

The A/C will work fine and will randomly stop working. You turn the car off and start it back up the A/C works fine. It seems to have the random shut off when outside temperature is above 85F. The clutch does disengage when the problem happens.

Have you had the system recharged lately? It sounds like the in-vehicle temperature sensor for the HVAC system is not working correctly. Here is the location so you can check it out, these sensors can get dirty or have an obstruction causing it to misread. To be sure we should do a CAN scan which is easy, you can get a CAN scanner from Amazon for about $30.00. Here is a video to show you how:
