Motor has a melting plastic smell when running. Fluids are full all gages are normal engine not running hot. Temp gage is running about 1/2

Check exhaust system for something that may have melted on a pipe.

Roy, My car will start out on the, low side of temp gage, then it starts going to middle. That is as far as it goes.I notice when I get to wear Iam going the engine feels very hot. Any ideas, what is the proublem would be?
