Got a new fuel injector fitted 10 days ago and since then there has been an increasing fuel smell in the cat after long ish (20 miles) drives, also I have been told by others that when the car is running they can smell petrol when walking in front of the cat.
I have checked under the car and there doesnt seem to be an obvious leak. No extra fuel consumption and I dont over fill when refuelling.

Have you looked by the intake manifold where the injectors are while its running to see if its leaking fuel? ALSO have you thought about taking it back to where they installed the injector for a quick look?

Just checking car now and I have also contacted the garaged who did the previous work but he thinks the smell and work are not related. We will see but it seems to much of a coincidence

I would say it could be linked if the smell started after the repair.I would let the repair shop look it over I wouldn't let them charge me for looking it over.I would make them show you what they found. Dont ask to see anything till they say they found something.
