CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY COOLANT PROBLEM

2010 Chrysler Town and Country • 60,000 miles

I am having a heating issue. My heater will not blow hot air unless I get above 50mph or drive for more than 30min. And above 45mph ( if I am lucky)

THIS REALLY SOUNDS LIKE YOUR THERMOSTAT IS "STUCK OPEN"

IT'S SUPPOSED TO WORK LIKE A VALVE--IT OPENS WHEN THE PRESET TEMP IS EXCEEDED---CLOSES WHEN THE TEMP IS CORRECT

THIS HAPPENS CONSTANTLY, KEEPING THE ENGINE AT THE TEMP THAT THE THERMOSTAT IS RATED FOR. IF IT REMAINS "OPEN" THE ENGINE NEVER REALLY GETS TO OPERATING TEMP, AS THE COOLANT IS CONSTANTLY FLOWING TO THE RADIATOR TO BE COOLED

AT 50 MPH--YOU ARE SORTA "CATCHING UP" (BUT NOT QUITE)----THE COOLANT IS CIRCULATING FASTER/ THE CYLINDERS ARE HOTTER FROM THE INCREASED RPMs

SOUNDS LIKE IT'S TIME FOR ANOTHER ONE---GOT A DEPENDABLE, LESS EXPENSIVE "KEEPER" MECHANIC. OR ARE YOU DIYing THIS?
