My 2008 avalon needs a new windshield, it has the rain sensitive system. Do I need to got to the toyota dealer for a windshield to keep systems like the rain system working?

No, call an auto glass company and they can get the correct replacement at a much more reasonable cost.

Good news rain sensors have nothing to do with windshield. Mounted in roof

What I meant is mounted to roof near wind shield and are easily removed and reinstalled
