Hi, I have an issue on my X-trail 2.5 L 2008 model where, every time I engage drive gear (Also in Reverse Gear) and am about to accelerate to start a journey, a strange engine or some kind of mechanical rotating noise comes on but it happens for only 2 seconds. Then it stops and drive very smoothly without any strange noise even if we change the gear from N or P to D. What could this be?

These problems need to be heard first hand to try and determine the problem, I suggest that you go to a local mechanic and ask then to listen to this and they should be able to advise on the problem, with out actually hearing the noise in is near on impossible to advise accurately on this problem

Thanks for your quick response, I Came to know that the noise is due to the ABS Self test. But is it possible to disable the ABS by pulling out the Fuse. When I Check the Fuse box under the hood, I found three fuses related to ABS (ABS MTR, ABS SOL and ABS 4WD) So Which one should be pulled out to Disable ABS?

ABS motor will kill the system but it will set a check light that will not turn off.
