2008 Dodge Avenger Repair Question

My car wont accelerate past 2rpm then it feels like its jumping or wanting to stall. wont speed up paat 45 mph
It had started to stall a few times, I thought I got some bad gas. Now it will not accelerate. It seems it wants to stall and feels like it wants to stall and feels like a total loss of power.
