I replaced the battery in my key remote for the car, as putting it in the ignition lock was not recharging it (drove with the key in on several long trips over the past few months) and I was also starting to have problems with it not locking/unlocking my car using the remote. Now, the car will start up without the key in the ignition lock just fine, but it will not unlock/lock my car using the remote whatsoever. I called BMW and they said it will cost me $140 to reprogram the remote. I was wondering if there was a way I could reprogram the remote myself?
