2007 Mazda 3 Tires and noise

I got 2used tires to replace both front tires. When I got on the freeway, going about 50 or 60mph, I started hearing a whine like the wind is blowing really loud. It gets louder the faster I go. I don't hear it on city streets and it also depends on the road surface. I know it's the tires, but I don't know what and I need for it to stop because it makes me nervous. What would cause this?

You have to look at the tread wear patterns. If the tires came from a car that was out of alignment and they have a feather-edge pattern, that will wear off over time as long as your car is in alignment.
