2006 Volkswagen Jetta Will Start Within 2 Seconds Die Restart Give Fuel Let Off

My Jetta will start up and then within 2 seconds die. When I restart it I give it fuel and then let off the pedal and it will idle. My question is what is causing it to die after I start it?
