2006 Volkswagen Fox Repair Question

Engine sounds high pitched and strangled when driving, especially accellerating. engine smokes/burning oil when slowing down/stopping.
Engine is 1.4l, no warning lights, seems to be enough coolant and oil.

check engine vacuum if 15" or below check for clogged converter or exaust. check fuel pressure.
