I have a 2006 nissan altima SE and I went to autozone to see why the car engine light came on and why it has been having trouble starting. They put it on the computer and they said that I had 2 codes that popped up. One code was the crankshaft sensor and the other was the speed sensor. My boyfriend replaced the crankshaft sensor but the light is still on and the car is still having issues with cranking. Do I need to replace the speed sensor as well to correct the problem or is it something else. PLS HELP!

Are you sure he did the crank sensor? It is a tough one to replace down by the rear mount bracket and is a common failure. If he did that one, it may need to be reflashed. There is a tsb on this issue.

The speed sensor code will not cause hard starting.

The cam sensor is the same as crank sensor and can be confused.

You say issues with cranking? Do you mean it will not turn over on the key, or it will not run?
