Loud high pitch sound when applying brakes at high speed but also hear it while driving--car seems fine--maybe using a little more gas than normal-no problems braking they seem good

You could maybe rent an electronic suspension noise finder from auto place to try and isolate noisemaker.

Took car in/told it was brakes and rotors-$500!--Also have loose tie rod front passenger side tire--just bought this car (used) last may! About 6 months ago--thrifty auto sales in johnston ri--they told me they had fixed the tie rod and never said a word about the brakes---buyer beware!

500? I could do it for 200 or less! If brakes feel ok just consider getting new pads. Look in local paprs for specials like 49$.
