my radiator hose was leaking, they repaired it about 3 months age. Saturday my engine light came on, I looked under hood and coolant was all over my engine, towed car to repair shop, defected hose was put on, they replaced. But they can't find why my light still comes on. Could my engine been damaged because of the coolant issue?

If your engine overheated and you drove for an extended period of time afterwards, then yes, your engine could be damaged.

About the light, any compotent shop with a capable scanner should be able to determine why your light is on. When your Check engine light comes on, it means the computer is trying to inform you of something by way of setting a code.

Take it to a shop where the technicians know what they're doing.

Also, if the coolant splashed all over your engine, it could've leaked into the wiring harness and fouled out a connector. This is very unlikely, but stranger things have happened.
