Radiator Replacement

Tools Required
J38185 Hose Clamp Pliers
Removal Procedure
Drain the coolant from the radiator.
Raise and support the vehicle.

Remove the transmission cooler lines from the radiator.
Using J38185 reposition the radiator outlet hose clamp from the radiator.

Remove the radiator outlet hose from the radiator.
Lower the vehicle.
Remove the cooling fan.

Using J38185 reposition the radiator inlet hose clamp.
Remove the radiator inlet hose from the radiator.
Remove the radiator vent inlet hose from the radiator.

Important: Push retainers back to release the fan shroud from the radiator.

Remove the fan shroud from the radiator.

Remove the condenser to radiator retaining bolts.

Remove the radiator support bracket retaining bolt.
Remove the radiator support bracket.

Remove the radiator assembly from the vehicle.

Reposition the condenser from the radiator.
Installation Procedure

Reposition the condenser to the radiator.

Install the radiator assembly to the vehicle.
Install the cooling fan.

Install the radiator inlet hose to the radiator.
Using J38185 reposition the radiator inlet hose clamp.

Install the radiator support bracket.
Install the radiator support bracket retaining bolt. Tighten the bolt to 25 Nm (18 ft. Lbs.).

Notice: Install the condenser to radiator retaining bolts.

Tighten the bolts to 28 Nm (21 ft. Lbs.).

Install the fan shroud to the radiator.
Raise the vehicle.

Install the radiator outlet hose to the radiator.
Using J38185 reposition the radiator outlet hose clamp to the radiator.

Connect the transmission cooler lines to the radiator.
Lower the vehicle.
Install the radiator vent inlet hose to the radiator.
Fill the cooling system.
Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
Leak test the fittings. Refer to Leak Testing.
