Location of Oil Filter & Oil Drain plug on 2006 GMC Savana w/ 5.3 liter V8

Where is oil filter and oil drain plug on 2006 GMC Savana with 5.3 liter V8? Can't see oil filter and want to make sure I don't open transmission plug, as the plug size looks very small to me, much smaller than on my old 1994 Chevy Van.

Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement
Removal Procedure

Important: In order to completely drain the oil from the oil pan internal baffling, the bottom of the oil pan must be level during the oil drain procedure.
Open the hood.
Remove the oil fill cap.
Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
Place a oil drain pan under the oil pan drain plug.
Remove the oil pan drain plug.
Drain the engine oil.
Wipe the excess oil from the drain plug hole and plug.
Remove the oil filter from the engine block.
Important: Check the old oil filter to ensure that the filter seal is not left on the engine block.
Wipe the excess oil from the oil filter mounting.
