Does a slave cylinder need a gasket?

Replaced slave cylinder and now it's leaking behind the assembly.

The slave cylinder is a rod with a seal that bolts up to your tranmssion. There is not a gasket between the slave gasket and the transmission. The is only seals/gaskets where there are fluid passages.
So, what has probably happened is the seal is leaking for the salve cylinder itself and you need to return it.
