Hi I found a used ECU computer on ebay. He has an 2006 Chevy SSR. The computer went bad and the dealer tried flashing it and it still does not work. I was wondering as long as the computer looks the same it should be safe to buy. Or does the service have to be the same or close. If the computer looks the same Does it matter. All I am going to do is have the dealer flash it anyways. Thanks for any help.

Why buy something you cannot even use? You will not be able to use it for anything

Ok thats why I was asking. I found out the part number has to be the same. I can not find this computer anywhere. The dealer wants 500 for it. Rock auto wants 220 for it.

Do not buy a used unit. It has to be new to take the correct flashing.
