Fixing a blower motor on a 06 silverado and I was just wondering what wire goes through the variable ressistor, positive or ground.

If I ground the black wire fan/blower motor comes on.

If you have the manual ac controls it has a power wire going to the blower motor resistor. So if you ground the blower motor does the blower work like normal with the blower motor switch?

The resister supplies both power and ground so chances are you have a bad resister.

The diagram I found and posted shows the ground for the blower motor piggy backs off the ground control side of the blower motor relay.

That is all internal to the resister. The ground and power feed for the blower both come from withing the resister. The external ground wire grounds the resister.

The relay is also inside the resister.

The decated ground to relay should mean the the blower motor is always grounded no matter what. He said all the speeds work when he grounds it so I would make sure the ground to the relay/resistir is good.

You have to verify that the external ground belonging to the resister is actually good but beyond that, everything happens inside the resister. That grounds at the lip of the dashboard near the inside air intake, above the blower motor.
