The key is stuck in the ignition

The key is stuck in the ignition. Have already tried to wiggle the steering wheel and mar sure the shifter I fully engaged in park.

Possibly the barrel and key are jambed due to a failed segment in the lock assembly, best to get a lock smith to check this one out.

Remove the center console cover to gain access to a switch that will release the key from ignition switch. It could be your switch in console is bad or it lost power so it can't function. A dead battery will cause the key not to release also. Then you have to hand press the switch in console to release the key. Check on you tube for video showing how to get to the switch in the console.
If your shifter is locked in park then again you will have to depress the console switch to move the shifter.
