2006 chev impala- I was told I have a small coolant leak in my headgasket and a crossover pipe. External leak not into cylinder? Can the headgasket be retorqued or must it be replaced? Same for crossover pipe?

These are starting to show up on the 3.5, the cross over pipe will need new gaskets, and if you are sure that it is the head gasket leaking (sometimes hard to tell because the crossover pipe gasket is right close next to the head gasket corner back head), replacement of head gasket is necessary, GM realeased a tech bulletin (not warranty) to address this issue because many are showing up at the dealerships.

Just had my 07 impala 3.5 liter crossover pipe gaskets replaced with 137k on the car. Just a shame gm does not stand by their product when they have a faulty part. The fix was around $341 including gaskets and around 3 hours labor.
