message came up battery saver mode, lights went dim car is making a loud noise wipers are slow and the battery is only 2 years old... what could it be...????

Suspect the generator. It is a very high-failure item. To reduce the number of repeat failures replace the battery at the same time unless it's less than two years old. Your battery should be fine yet. As batteries age they lose their ability to dampen and absorb the harmful huge voltage spikes these generators produce.
