I was told that a remote starter can drain your battery, is that true? Had the original battery for 6 yrs with the use of a remote starter and never had any trouble. Since I change my battery, it doesn't last more than 10 months. Have had 4 new batteries in the last 3 yrs and was told it was because of the remote starter. Just want to verify if that could actually be the problem.

So is a factory remote starter?Has a parasitic draw test been done to see if it is the remote starter drawing power?

No it's not a factory installed remote starter but it's been working fine for 5 years before I started having trouble. As for the parasitic draw test, can any garage do that or only a dealer?

Thank you for your response

Any garage that knows how to do. Electrical work should be able to do that sounds like they were guessing it was the remote starter.
